The Almor Group team
The Almor Group is headed up by Managing Director Trevor Walton. We’re proud to say that the average employment tenure is in excess of 10 years and we are committed to supporting and developing all our employees across all levels of the organisation.
Board
Chris Allum founded Almor Ltd in 1992 when he acquired Welding and Brazing in Cannock, West Midlands. Since then he has gone on to build the Almor success story and acquire various companies such as F. Atkinson, Nottingham in 1998 and Mormet Fabrications in Tipton, West Midlands, both of which operate from their original bases. The last acquisition being Wellman Furnaces based in Oldbury, West Midlands.
Chris has now handed the running of the day to day business over to Trevor Walton but remains as Chairman and Owner of the company.
Martin has a long history of running businesses in Furnace Engineering as former Chairman and CEO of Carbolite.
He now sits on the Board with Trevor Walton but also provides valuble asssistance in an advisory role in the running of the business with Trevor Walton and the wider team.
Trevor Walton heads up the company as Managing Director.
Chris Allum (Founder of Almor) handed over the reins in September 2021 and Trevor will now take the Almor Group into and beyond its 30th year of business. Trevor is part of the statutory Board of Directors along with the existing statutory director Martin Leadbetter, former Chairman and CEO of Carbolite.
Trevor has worked in the thermal processing industry for over 30 years, joining Almor in 2015 and initially headed up the Wellman Furnaces Division since 2017.
Directors
Pat Clarke (Bsc. ACMA) has been with the Almor Group since it acquired F.Atkinson in 1998.
Heading up the Group as Finance Director and Almor’s Company Secretary Pat plays a lead role in the function of the company, including HR.
Richard is our most recent employee brought in at Director level. He is responsible for Nottingham and Tipton fabrications production, IT, ISO9001:2015.
He is also the company lead on Health and Safety, with fellow directors, Trevor Walton (Managing Director) and Pat Clarke (Company Secretary and Finance Director).
Managers
Arthur Watson AMIMechE – Engineering Manager, Arthur has been working at the Almor Group for over 20 years. He is responsible for sales, engineering and project management of Almor Wild Barfield equipment and major site service projects. He also works closely with the site service team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and has been involved in the furnace and process industry for almost 50 years. Arthur is currently Chairman of BIFCA, the trade association for the British Industrial Furnace Constructors Association.
Colin Bloor (BEng, DegIosh) has been working at the Almor Group for over 10 years. He is responsible for engineering compliance, project management of equipment and major site service projects. He also manages the site service engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget. He is a qualified Electrical & Mechanical Engineer with an extensive field service experience gained over 30 years. He also has a wealth of Health & Safety background in all aspects of site engineering activities. Colin’s involvement in the furnace industry stretches over 20 years working on and designing Vacuum and Atmosphere furnace and process equipment.
Vanessa has worked in Health, Safety & Welfare for over 25 years; predominately in the Manufacturing Industry. Vanessa (known better as ‘Ness’) has been a member of our team since 2015 starting originally as our HS&W Advisor. Ness brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience along with an infectious laugh and an appetite for all things safe!

Vanessa Thornton-Kitchen NEBOSH, IOSH
Having studied for a doctorate in Volcanology Ashley moved into a marketing career. Working as press officer for the LTA then onto Marketing Manager for Fossil UK.
Ashley now looks after marketing across the Almor Group.
Gary has been working at the Almor Group for 15 years. During this time he has filled various roles mainly focused around quality management and product conformity.
Gary’s role is Technical Contracts Manager/QA Lead. He heads up the estimating department and manages fabrications for the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.
Mark has been working at the Almor Group since 2011. He is responsible for the management of production at Almor’s Nottingham site to meet customer needs by optimising use of labour and facilities.
He also works closely with other departments, in particularly commercial, contracts, and sales to ensure contracts are delivered on time and budget.
Sales Team
Nigel heads up the sales team across the whole of the Almor Group.
Nigel has been working for Almor and previously Wellman for 7 years. He started his career as an apprentice furnace builder and has spent his whole working life in the industrial process heating industry.
Dave Brady, an Area Sales Manager has a strong background in aerospace and commercial heat treatment having held a variety of roles with one of the UK’s largest commercial heat treating operations. Dave is well acquainted with Almor’s range of products and services from small fabricated Ni/Cr loading baskets, serpentine grids and Ni/Cr furnace parts such as retorts and radiant tubes through furnace spares to new equipment. Dave will be based out of our Nottingham headquarters, generally covering the eastern side of the country.
Outside of work, Dave is keen guitarist and a follower of motorsports
Lyndon has been working at the Almor Group for over 3 years. He is responsible for sales, engineering and project management of refractory equipment and major site service projects. He also works closely with the site service team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget. He is a qualified Refractory bricklayer and Ceramic fibre installer has been involved in the refractory industry for over 45 years.
Keith is an experienced mechanical engineer with a long and varied career in the foundry industry and generally within mechanical and materials handling, conveying and process engineering.
Working life, starting as an installation and Service engineer on automated foundry equipment, progressing though engineering management of substantial engineering departments at major UK foundry’s.
Later Keith moved to sales and project management, travelling the world to advise on many aspects of modern foundry production techniques and representing some of the biggest names in the industry, involved with every aspect of production from melting to finishing departments.
Keith will be based out of our Tipton office, generally covering the western side of the country.
